NSOU admissions for Four Year Undergraduate (FYUG) and most Postgraduate (PG) & BLIS programmes for the 2026-2027 academic year are closed as of 02 October 2026. Applicants for these programmes must provide and verify their mandatory DEB ID by 05 October 2026. Provisional Enrollment Certificates and SLM Tokens for admitted FYUG, PG, and BLIS learners will be available for printing from 09 October 2026 to 12 October 2026.

Four Year Undergraduate (FYUG) Programme Admission 2026-2027
Online application for the Four Year Undergraduate (FYUG) Programme for the Academic Year 2026-2027 was available from 24 July 2026 (10:00 A.M.) and closed on 25 September 2026 (06:00 P.M.). Document uploading was open until 26 September 2026 (06:00 P.M.). Online and offline fee payments were accepted until 29 September 2026 (04:00 P.M.) and 29 September 2026 (banking hours) respectively.
Getting a DEB ID from the UGC-DEB portal (deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId) is mandatory for pursuing programmes under Open and Distance Learning mode. Applicants must provide and verify their DEB ID through the admission portal by 05 October 2026 (04:00 P.M.). Applications will be rejected if the DEB ID is not provided and verified by this deadline.
Admitted learners can print their Provisional Enrollment Certificate and Token of SLMs from 09 October 2026 (04:00 P.M.) to 12 October 2026 (09:00 P.M.).

Postgraduate (PG) and BLIS Admission 2026-2027 (July 2026 Session)
Online application for PG and BLIS programmes for the Academic Year 2026-2027 (July 2026 Session) was available from 25 July 2026 (10:00 A.M.). For M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR), and M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO), applications closed on 10 September 2026 (06:00 P.M.). For all other PG and BLIS programmes, applications closed on 25 September 2026 (06:00 P.M.).
Getting a DEB ID from the UGC-DEB portal (deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId) is mandatory for pursuing programmes under Open and Distance Learning mode. Applicants (excluding Environmental Science, Geography & Zoology) must provide and verify their DEB ID through the admission portal by 05 October 2026 (04:00 P.M.). Admission to M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR), and M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO) is strictly based on merit and the Government of West Bengal’s reservation policy through counselling and seat allotment due to limited seats. Provisional merit lists were published on 23 September 2026. A mop-up round of counselling was conducted on 30 September 2026 for candidates from the merit list who missed their first chance.
The first-year fee for M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR), and M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO) is Rs. 18,475/-, excluding bank charges/payment gateway charges. This amount can be paid via bank draft (drawn in favour of “Netaji Subhas Open University” payable at Kolkata) or through debit/credit card.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/PH/OBC/EWS is applicable only to candidates from West Bengal. SC/ST/PH/OBC/EWS candidates from other states cannot avail of this facility. The University follows The Kolkata Gazette Notification vide No. 944-BCW/MR-23/2026 and No. 945-BCW/MR-23/2026 dated 18 May 2026 for OBC reservations.

B.Ed. Special Education Programme
The B.Ed. Special Education (IDD/HI/VI)-ODL programme is offered jointly by NSOU and RCI. The programme duration is 2.5 years for fresher candidates and 2 years for those who have completed a 2-year Diploma in Special Education or another RCI-approved degree in specialization with a valid CRR No.
