Mandatory DEB ID Requirement

MA Bengali Course Structure Highlights

The MA Bengali course is designed to nurture critical literary concepts, approaches, theories, movements, and trends across genres and cultures in world literature. The first year focuses on the development of modern grammar, aspects of language, and the growth of genre. Subsequent studies delve into literary theory and criticism.

The programme includes Personal Contact Programmes (PCPs), tutorials, special classes, remedial classes, and online interactions.

Learning Support and Resources

For each paper, 30 hours of personal contact programmes (PCPs) are held at various PCP centres, totaling 120 hours of classes by academic counsellors. Additionally, 10 hours of tutorials, special classes, and remedial classes are conducted by the Department of Bengali for each paper.

Forty hours of online interaction are conducted each year as part of an ICT-based learning management system. Seminars and conferences on interdisciplinary subjects are held throughout the year, both online and offline.

Learners receive self-learning materials (SLMs) for each paper, along with e-content when required during online sessions and PCPs. Each unit in the self-study material includes a list of recommended books. Instructors at Learning Support Centres (LSC) during PCPs and NSOU during online sessions assist students with reference books.

Learners can also utilize the university’s learning management system and the NSOU Android app for their studies.

Learners’ Facilitation Centres (LFCs) are available at three Regional Centres and the university headquarters to provide technical help for online PG admission form submission.
