Additional Fees for M.Sc. Environmental Science, Geography, and Zoology (July 2026 Session)

For M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR), and M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO) programmes for the July 2026 session, an additional fee of Rs. 475/- is applicable in the first year. This is in addition to the programme fee listed above.

The total first year fee for these programmes is Rs. 18,475/- (Rs. 18,000/- programme fee + Rs. 475/- other fees).

  • Fee for Identity Cum Registration Card: Rs. 100/-
  • Annual Development Fee: Rs. 175/-
  • Migration Fee: Rs. 25/-

Payment Modes for Admissions 2026

NSOU offers both online and offline payment options for admission fees for the 2026-2027 academic year.

For M.Sc. in Environmental Science (PGES), M.Sc. in Geography (PGGR), and M.Sc. in Zoology (PGZO) admissions through counselling, payment can be made via bank draft or debit/credit card.

  • Online Payment: Available through the respective admission portals for Four Year Undergraduate (FYUG), Postgraduate (PG), and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) programmes.
  • Offline Payment: Through Bank Challan at Indian Bank for FYUG, PG, and BLIS programmes.
  • Bank Draft: For PGES, PGGR, PGZO counselling, drawn in favour of “Netaji Subhas Open University” payable at Kolkata.
  • Debit/Credit Card: For PGES, PGGR, PGZO counselling.

Ph.D. Programme Fees and Payment

The fee structure for Ph.D. programmes for the Academic Year 2024-2025 (Session January 2025) was available for online payment from 12 September 2025 (10:00 A.M.) to 08 October 2025 (04:00 P.M.).

NSOU has not published the Ph.D. fee structure or payment dates for the Academic Year 2026-2027 on its site as of 02 October 2026.

Mandatory DEB ID for ODL Programmes

As per UGC-DEB directives, obtaining a DEB ID is mandatory to pursue any programme under the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode. Applicants must get their DEB ID from the UGC-DEB portal.

After payment of fees, applicants for FYUG, PG, and BLIS programmes (excluding Environmental Science, Geography & Zoology for payment, but mandatory for all for verification) must provide and verify their DEB ID through the university’s admission portal. Failure to provide and verify the DEB ID by the deadline will result in the rejection of the application.

For FYUG, PG, and BLIS admissions for the 2026-2027 academic year, the deadline to provide and verify the DEB ID is 05 October 2026 (04:00 P.M.).

Fee Refund Policy

The university’s refund policy states that fees will only be refunded under specific conditions:

If an applicant pays the requisite fees for admission twice (through Payment Gateway) against the same application ID.

If one applicant applies for two subjects inadvertently.

If an applicant requests a refund after paying for a particular programme, the deposited amount cannot be refunded.

Applicants eligible for a refund must visit the University HQ with a written application and supporting documents within one month from the admission closing date.

Learners’ Facilitation Centres for Technical Support

Netaji Subhas Open University has established Learners’ Facilitation Centres (LFCs) at three Regional Centres and the Headquarters to provide technical help for the submission of online admission and renewal forms.

Intended learners may visit their respective LFC during office hours (11:00 A.M. to 04:30 P.M. on working days) for assistance with online FYUG admission and UG Renewal forms.
